About the team

We are seeking an experienced Investigator with supervisory expertise to lead and manage a team of Trust & Safety Investigators. This role oversees a team responsible for investigating a wide range of risk events and providing essential Trust & Safety support to the Turo community.

A key function of this team is serving as the primary liaison with law enforcement and governmental authorities. You will support the team in responding to critical incidents, law enforcement requests, subpoenas, search warrants, vehicle crimes, fraud cases, and other requests as assigned by leadership.

What you will do

  • Lead and support a high-performing team of Trust & Safety Investigators conducting complex investigations into vehicle crime and critical incidents

  • Provide hands-on case management support and ensure investigative excellence

  • Coach and develop talent through hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management

  • Evaluate investigative reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with departmental standards and data privacy regulations

  • Develop and implement investigative workflows to improve accuracy, efficiency, and turnaround time

  • Identify trends and risk hotspots related to auto theft and platform threats

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve operational bottlenecks and communicate insights to leadership

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for law enforcement and external partners

  • Lead projects from planning through execution while maintaining team engagement and service quality

  • Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performance team culture

Your profile

  • 2+ years of experience supervising or managing high-performing teams

  • 4+ years of experience in investigative, operational, or risk-related roles

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

  • Strong investigative and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office

  • Ability to quickly learn internal investigative systems and tools

  • Strong project management and prioritization skills

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments

  • High integrity, strong work ethic, and commitment to protecting the community

  • Positive attitude, high energy, and resilience in high-stakes situations

  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays

Bonus if you have

  • Experience in Trust & Safety within peer-to-peer or car-sharing marketplaces

  • Familiarity with investigative tools such as TransUnion TLOxp or LexisNexis Accurint

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or equivalent

  • Experience partnering directly with law enforcement on criminal investigations or asset recovery

For this role, the target base salary range in Phoenix is $72,000–$90,000 annually. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits. In general, our ranges reflect the market-based target for new hire salaries based on the level and location of the role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Turists will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
