About the team
Turo, the world’s largest car-sharing marketplace, is seeking a skilled Trust & Safety Investigator to help ensure the security and integrity of our community of hosts and guests across Canada. In this role, you will investigate and resolve cases involving fraud, missing vehicles, and safety-related incidents while supporting members of the Turo community.
You will serve as a key liaison for escalations from Customer Support, Claims, Leadership, and Law Enforcement, applying sound judgment and strong investigative skills to protect our platform and its users.
What you will do
Act as the Trust & Safety liaison for escalations from Customer Support, Claims, Leadership, and Law Enforcement
Provide exceptional support to members of the Canadian Turo community
Independently manage and prioritize an investigative caseload from intake through resolution, ensuring strong ownership and follow-through
Conduct comprehensive investigations and apply appropriate strategies for each case type, including leading interviews with suspects and victims
Develop a strong understanding of risk indicators through detailed reviews of user accounts and transactions to identify fraud and other high-risk activity
Communicate case progress, emerging trends, and key insights to team members and leadership to support continuous improvement
Build and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement, external partners, and investigative counterparts
Lead or contribute to special projects as assigned by management and collaborate on team initiatives
Your profile
This is a Monday–Friday role, with the ability to work weekends as required
Established relationships with Canadian law enforcement agencies are considered an asset
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Strong communication, interpersonal, and investigative skills
Proven ability to prioritize workloads while maintaining high responsiveness and availability
Comfortable adapting quickly to new technologies and systems; experience with Kustomer, CRM platforms, Google Workspace, and MS Office preferred (Mac experience is a plus)
A collaborative team player with a positive attitude, high energy, integrity, strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and sense of humor
For this role, the target base salary range in Toronto is $58,000–$73,000 annually. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits. In general, our ranges reflect the market-based target for new hire salaries based on the level and location of the role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Turists will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
