About the team
We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile Systems Administrator to join our growing IT Operations team. Reporting to the IT Service Desk Manager - the ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise across various domains, including network administration, mobile device management (MDM), Windows and macOS operating systems, and a solid understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles, particularly with exposure to Okta Workflows. This role is crucial for maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure, ensuring our employees have the resources they need to succeed while upholding robust security standards.
What you will do
Provide expert-level support, monitoring, and proactive troubleshooting for highly complex hardware, applications and integrated systems.
Provide support and configuration management of our MDM tools Kandji and Intunes, ensuring our policies are up-to-date, auditing and monitoring our end point devices and performing patch management updates.
Implement, and administer advanced configurations of SaaS tools, including but not limited to Google Workspace, Okta, Okta Workflow Automation, Slack, Zoom, and the Atlassian suite. Implement monitoring and health-check processes to ensure system reliability, uptime, and performance across key SaaS platforms.
Administer and improve Okta for access, provisioning, SSO, MFA, and automation workflows
Implement monitoring and health-check processes to ensure system reliability, uptime, and performance across key SaaS platforms.
Write scripts (python, bash) to automate recurrent IT and onboarding tasks
Use Terraform for infrastructure automation, managing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to streamline provisioning and system management
Troubleshoot, configure and maintain enterprise network infrastructure
Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures to maintain clear and thorough technical records
Your profile
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, complemented by relevant certifications such as Network+, CISSP, and AWS or Terraform Certifications.
3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator.
Demonstrated proficiency in managing Mac, and Windows environments, alongside deep knowledge of networking and security protocols such as TCP/IP, VLANs, IPSEC, DNS, DHCP, SSL, VPN, etc.
Skilled in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, JavaScript, SQL, Yaml and in using Infrastructure as Code tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform.
Experienced with Workflow Automation & Orchestration tools such as Okta Workflows, Workato, and Tines
Bonus if you have:
Experience leading projects, particularly in deploying new technologies or significant system upgrades, showcasing the ability to manage timelines and cross-functional team collaborations
Proven track record of creatively solving complex problems, ideally in high-stress or critical system environments, demonstrating out-of-the-box thinking and solutions
Excellent analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot advanced technical issues, with strong presentation and communication skills, capable of working independently or as part of a team, and ability to be on-call beyond normal business hours.
Ability to effectively interface with multiple levels of an organization, serving as both an influencer and a collaborative team player, with a proven ability to perform and oversee complex tasks and prioritize effectively based on strategic goals.
For this role, the target base salary range in San Francisco is $102,000-$128,000 annually. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits. In general, our ranges reflect the market-based target for new hire salaries based on the level and location of the role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Turists will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursday.
