Are you passionate about building scalable and reliable software solutions for e-commerce and logistics? Do you have experience in developing and integrating industrial automation systems? If so, you might be the perfect fit for our full stack engineer role at ThredUp.
ThredUp is the world's largest online thrift store where you can buy and sell high-quality secondhand clothes. We are revolutionizing the fashion industry by making shopping sustainable, affordable and fun. We operate a network of automated distribution centers across the US, where we process millions of items every year using cutting-edge technology.
As a full stack engineer at ThredUp, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining web applications and services that support our core business functions. You will also work closely with our industrial engineering team to integrate industrial automation systems such as conveyors, carousels, image scanners and robots into our software platform. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging and impactful projects that span across the full stack, from front-end to back-end, from cloud to edge.
In This Role You'll Get To:
Partner with cross-functional teams on warehouse automation, fulfillment, and logistics projects
Full stack development of scalable, flexible, and resilient systems
Independently manage projects, timelines, and stakeholder expectations
Debug and resolve production issues
Contribute to keeping our systems updated and secure
Support our systems during on-call rotation
Review code and collaborate with teammates on technical decisions
Instrument and monitor key service and business metrics
Some travel to our distribution centers may be required but normally not more than once per quarter
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
8+ years of professional software development experience using C#, .NET,Ruby on Rails, MySQL, AWS and other web technologies
Proficient in web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React
Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices
Experience in working with industrial automation systems via PLCs, OPC UA, MQTT, TCP/IP and IoT
Experience in applying software engineering best practices such as code reviews, testing, debugging and documentation
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and tools
Nice to have: React Native, experience in using Inductive Automation Ignition platform for industrial automation applications & Human Machine Interfaces
At ThredUp your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $155,000 and $230,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Many ThredUp employees also have the opportunity to own shares of ThredUp stock. ThredUp employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing ThredUp stock if voluntarily participating in ThredUp’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Subject to eligibility requirements, you’ll also receive other benefits: Comprehensive medical & dental coverage, vision, 401k, life and disability insurance.
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
