How You Will Make An Impact
ThredUp is in search of a Benefits and People Operations Administrator who brings expertise and enthusiasm to administering and optimizing our benefits programs. You'll be the subject matter expert who is relentless in ensuring our offerings are competitive and compliant, while also finding innovative ways to streamline processes. From managing enrollments to negotiating with vendors, you'll drive efficiency and problem-solve every step of the way. You will sit in our Scottsdale office and report to the VP, People Operations and Total Rewards.
In This Role You’ll Get To:
Lead the administration and management of our employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental and vision plans, life insurance, disability coverage, flexible spending accounts (FSAs), and wellness programs. Drive communication strategy around benefits including Open Enrollment
Conduct rigorous assessment of our benefits programs and innovate to ensure market competitiveness in both plan offerings and cost savings
Provide outstanding support to our employees as the primary contact for inquiries and issues related to benefits
Own the relationships and collaborate with benefits brokers, insurance carriers, and vendors to negotiate contracts, resolve issues, and ensure cost-effective and high-quality benefits offerings
Monitor and analyze industry trends, legislative changes, and market benchmarks related to employee benefits and retirement plans, and make recommendations
Manage the administration of 401(k) program, including eligibility, enrollment, hardship requests, file funding and compliance testing
Regularly monitor benefits integration errors and be committed to research, investigation and driving solutions to file feed and system configuration deficiencies. Responsible for identifying system requirements, testing and sign off of configuration changes. Conduct regular audits of system data
Manage benefits invoicing and reconciliation, provide regular reporting to Accounting Team, collaborate with payroll to ensure accuracy in deductions
Oversee new hire enrollments, Qualifying Life Events (QLEs), COBRA administration, and ensure compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA)
Collaborate with Leave of Absence Administrator to respond to disability claims and enter direct bill premiums.
Manage People Support ticket queue for the People Team. Responsible for responding to any benefits or people operations questions accordingly or redirecting to the appropriate team member to support.
Assist with people operations audits with compliance related reporting submissions including but not limited to, EEOC, CA Pay Data, Etc.
What We’re Looking For:
Preference for Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification
Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits administration, with a strong understanding of employee benefits regulations, ERISA, HIPAA, and ACA requirements
Proficiency in Workday Benefits, including experience launching and managing Open Enrollment through Workday
Experience with Google Suite of Products
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate complex benefits information to employees at all levels
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in benefits data management, reporting, and compliance
Commitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, and professionalism in handling sensitive employee information and benefits matters
Intermediate knowledge of Excel, including vlookups, pivot tables and a desire to learn more
At ThredUp, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $85,000 and $100,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Many ThredUp employees also have the opportunity to own shares of ThredUp stock. ThredUp employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing ThredUp stock if voluntarily participating in ThredUp’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Subject to eligibility requirements, you’ll also receive other benefits: Comprehensive medical & dental coverage, vision, 401k, life and disability insurance.
