How You Will Make An Impact
Over the past 15 years, secondhand has gone from stigmatized to celebrated. Along the way, ThredUp’s strategic and authentic communication has been a key component in raising awareness and education around the fashion industry’s wastefulness and how thrift and ThredUp can be a solution. As our Brand Communications Coordinator, you will play an essential role in highlighting how ThredUp is forging a more accessible, sustainable future for fashion. You will own the planning, project management, and execution of our highest-visibility campaigns, raising awareness for and consideration of ThredUp at a pivotal moment in our company’s lifetime. You will also foster and develop relationships with consumer media at our top target outlets -- along with our VIP tastemakers including celebrities and stylists -- driving distribution for the impactful stories we tell.
Do you have a genuine passion for the intersection of technology, fashion, and sustainability? Do you pride yourself on your meticulous organization and spreadsheet skills? We want to hear from you. This role reports directly to our Director of Consumer Communications, and is highly cross-functional; you’ll establish relationships across all facets of the company including brand, operations, engineering, and executive leadership.
In This Role You’ll Get To:
Own project management of all consumer-facing campaigns, including budget, timeline, and execution.
Manage brand and consumer communications campaign calendar and identify seasonal and trending storytelling opportunities.
Manage KPI reporting on a monthly, quarterly, yearly and campaign basis.
Work closely with data science, creative, and other departments within ThredUp to bring data-driven stories to life and create thoughtful campaigns.
Craft consumer surveys, dig into internal data, etc. to glean insights for comms materials.
Develop and draft pitches for digital and broadcast platforms, emphasizing strong broadcast angles, and engage in monthly pitching sessions with national broadcast producers to build and sustain relationships with key targets.
Assess media requests for press-worthiness and shareability, crafting responses and talking points, while also identifying and updating brand imagery and b-roll.
Conduct comprehensive media monitoring across relevant sectors aligned with ThredUp's goals and competitors.
Manage and scale ThredUp's VIP shopping and clean out program, handling onboarding of contacts aligned with goals, managing product and clean out kit shipping and returns, cultivating relationships. Collaborate with the Ambassador and Growth Influencer teams as necessary.
What We’re Looking For:
2+ years of work experience in a marketing and/or communications role.
Project management experience, with rigorous attention to detail.
Finger-on-the-pulse awareness of pop culture and media trends.
