Job Description

About the Role

The Product Operations Supervisors at thredUP play a crucial role in bridging the gap between warehouse operations and the onsite e-commerce shopping experience. They are knowledgeable and passionate about product, brands and fashion.

The Product Operations Supervisors lead the company’s product efforts within the operation, from product description, to authentication, to styling of product for customer’s viewing, and more. Through data analysis, building a solid foundation of cross-functional partnerships, and leading a team of who do pricing, authentication, and product review, they will drive trust and confident in thredUP product. You will help us ensure that Ops accepts items of the right quality, records the right information, and takes amazing photos. You will also apply your love of fashion and/or the resale industry to help us honor our promises to suppliers and buyers.

As a Product Operations Supervisor, you will report to Product Ops Leadership and your time will be roughly split into three areas. Your primary focus is leading and developing your team. You will be expected to work on the floor beside them when necessary and handle disciplinary and employee issues in a professional manner. Second, you will execute the day to day business of Product Ops - including working the Under Review and QA queues as well as ensuring essential backend product information is up to date and accurate for all of ops processing. Third, you will gather input on what your team is seeing in their day to day and relay that to appropriate touch points within the Ops organization.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard, mentor, and develop your team members to help them maximize their potential

  • Monitor and report on Product Ops performance for your shift

  • Partner with Product Ops Leadership to identify opportunities for training and carry out day to day execution of their business lines.

  • Partner closely with your Product Ops Leadership to optimize processes for all areas of the Merch Ops business

  • Occasionally support other shifts in your DC to fill gaps in knowledge as it relates to your area of expertise

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience building and managing teams, with an emphasis on employee development

  • 2+ years experience in luxury ecommerce, resale, product, and/or operations management

  • Expansive knowledge of resale, authentication, garment construction, and apparel quality standards as it relates to all categories in fashion merchandising and luxury goods is a huge plus!

  • In-depth knowledge of apparel, quality standards and operations processes

  • Ability to take initiative, ownership, and accountability for the business

  • Highly detail-oriented and dependable

  • Collaborative, able to communicate effectively and fosters a feedback driven culture

  • Ability to adapt, multi-task, and deliver results under tight deadlines
