About the Team
The BI and Analytics team is on a mission to bring relevant data and insights to every person at Outreach while advancing the use of data and promoting an insight-centric culture. We are a centralized resource providing a suite of services to Outreach business functions including KPI definition, dashboards & reporting, ad hoc analysis, forecasting, self-serve analytics, predictive models and data pipeline building, and management.
The Role
As the Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics, you will design the analytics & BI strategy from the ground up. You’ll partner with product, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer success to shape how we measure success, uncover opportunities, and optimize decision-making across the company. You’ll also build and mentor a small but high-impact team, laying the foundation for a data-driven culture.
Location: We’re looking to hire this position hybrid in Seattle or Atlanta, or remote within the US.

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • You and your team will generate actionable insights that enable our GTM, Product, and Operations teams to make data-driven decisions and achieve our business goals. Your team owns the development and delivery of clear company performance narratives for MBR/QBR forums to executive and operational audiences
  • Prioritize and execute on project roadmap to develop insight from analysis and compelling synthesized recommendations. Analytical rigor and strategic thinking are a must, but you’ll need to get your hands dirty to drive real, sustainable impact
  • Become intimately familiar with the business, lead the team to distill and deliver critical business insights for leadership, and influence teammates and executives with your findings
  • Lead, mentor, and optimize productivity across our business analytics team.
  • Develop consistent and scalable processes to continuously monitor data integrity.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to gather business requirements from a diverse number of users across teams and translate requirements into scalable and cohesive solutions; enhancements, bugs, new processes, requests, ticketing systems
  • Build & Lead: Establish and scale the analytics function, including hiring, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team
  • Data Strategy: Define our analytics roadmap, KPIs, and governance to align with company goals
  • Cross-Functional Insights: Partner with product, GTM, and operations leaders to design experiments, define metrics, and deliver actionable dashboards and reporting
  • Tooling & Infrastructure: Collaborate with Engineering to evaluate, recommend, and implement the right BI, data warehouse, and analytics stack
  • Customer & Product Analytics: Drive deep understanding of user behavior, retention, churn, and product adoption to inform strategy and product development
  • Executive Reporting: Provide data-driven insights to the executive team and operational leaders to guide business decisions
  • Data Culture: Evangelize data literacy and ensure stakeholders have self-serve access to trusted metrics

Our Vision Of You

  • 6+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or strategy, preferably within a growing SaaS company
  • 2+ years of experience building and managing a team
  • Strong knowledge of SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, churn, CAC, LTV, cohort analysis, etc.).
  • Hands-on expertise with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Zuora. Etc.).
  • Familiarity with modern data stacks (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills—able to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Startup DNA: scrappy, adaptable, comfortable balancing strategic vision with tactical execution.
  • Experience leading and building an analytics team with the ability to create a performance- and metrics-focused culture a hands-on leader who knows how to apply the right level of situational guidance to smart analysts
  • An in-depth understanding of traditional B2B sales demand generation, pipeline management, and forecasting with the ability to operate in a fast paced environment with competing priorities
  • Strong understanding of SaaS product design and key performance indicators of customer usage and engagement
  • Experience analyzing and summarizing large amounts of data from multiple systems to provide a unique insight into business operations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and proven experience in cultivating collaborative working relationships with teams across an organization
  • Ability to cover a range of activities, from C-level presentations to hands-on, data deep-dives with analysts. Including the ability to summarize and visualize complex analyses that tell a compelling story.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail, a sense of personal accountability, and urgency for achieving results
