About The Team

We’re looking for a strong accounting leader to manage 5 direct reports and report to our Assistant Controller. The team is a mix of local to Seattle and remote - we can’t wait to meet you.
The Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Manager to oversee the high performing Accounting team. This role will be a thought leader and mentor and help identify best practices for month end close, internal controls and all general accounting matters. You will be responsible for all corporate and international general ledger accounting, including intercompany and consolidations and lead a best-in-class month end close process.
Location: While Seattle is preferred, we are open to remote within the US.

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • Manage and mentor the Accounting & Accounts Payable teams and play a key role in career development of team
  • Overall ownership of the month-end and quarterly close process, as well as the calendar for the Corporate Accounting team, Revenue Accounting team, and FP&A team. Ensuring timely close by all parties by enhancing communication and leading daily close meetings on a monthly basis
  • Manage preparation and review of all financial statements and non-revenue footnote disclosures, including share-based compensation, investments, leases, fixed assets, commitments and contingencies, and intangible assets
  • Lead international accounting efforts, including recording all GAAP entries for UK, CZ, Canada, and future international entities, transfer pricing entries, intercompany invoicing, and monthly consolidations
  • Manage relationship with key Accounting vendors and service providers
  • Work with Accounts Payable Manager to ensure accuracy & coding of invoices, proper payments to vendors and employees (employee expenses), and running an effective PO process
  • Prepare monthly reporting package for review with upper management, including income statement and balance sheet variance analysis, statement of cash flows, and other key reporting items
  • Review account reconciliations monthly and ensure any adjustments are booked timely
  • Review stock-based compensation, including employee and non-employee equity under ASC 718
  • Maintain leasing accounting under ASC 842
  • Lead annual and statutory audits with external auditors including managing deliverables and communicating progress and any issues timely to management for efficient audit
  • Develop and document formal policies and procedures in compliance with SEC and public company reporting standards
  • Work cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Revenue Accounting, Business Systems, Payroll, Engineering, IT, Sales, and other functions
  • Maintain and enhance an environment of accountability and professionalism
  • Clearly define expectations to the team and to management to create and maintain a highly functional team
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity to support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounting department and assist with implementation of efficient and effective processes

Our Vision Of You

  • 8+ years of Accounting experience, preferably in a high growth SaaS company
  • 3+ years as a people manager leading a high performing accounting team
  • Experience with supervising the Accounts Payable function
  • Big 4 experience strongly preferred
  • CPA required
  • Knowledge of NetSuite, Coupa, Concur, Clearwater, FloQast, and banking operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Successful in building cross-departmental relationships
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting
The base salary range for this role is $130,000-$170,000. You may also be offered incentive compensation, bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the your skills, qualifications, and experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
