WHAT YOU’LL DO
Do you thrive in the fast-paced energy of set days and love the challenge of bringing polished creative ideas to life on social platforms? We’re looking for a Producer to join our team and elevate our production output across a wide range of clients and content formats.
As a Producer, you’ll own the filming process, whether capturing native UGC on iPhone or operating hi-fi equipment. You’ll direct talent with confidence, make real-time adjustments to ensure quality, and guide teams to deliver content that meets Donut’s high standards for creativity and execution.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is technically skilled, detail-oriented, and able to balance efficiency with creativity. You should have a strong knowledge of social-first trends, camera equipment, and set management, while maintaining a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
What you'll be diving into day-to-day:
- Direct talent with confidence, ensuring performances are natural, aspirational, and on-brand.
- Operate pro-sumer hi-fi equipment with precision to achieve professional-quality results.
- Assess, review and approve production aspects of scripts.
- Assess and troubleshoot technical challenges (lighting limitations, location restrictions, gear issues) and quickly find solutions.
- Plan and execute lighting setups—balancing artificial and natural light for optimal results.
- Select and use the right lenses, ND filters, and camera settings for varied filming environments.
- Capture a wide variety of shots, from dynamic b-roll to interview setups, ensuring content is visually engaging and storytelling-driven.
- Ensure wardrobe, props, and set details remain consistent, polished, and aligned with creative briefs.
- Train and mentor junior team members on production best practices, ensuring strong team execution.
- Perform basic color correction and grading to ensure footage is balanced, polished, and ready for editing when necessary.
- Prepare footage for handoff, ensuring editors receive organized files, clear notes, and any necessary creative direction.
- Experience or knowledge of basic audio equipment.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 2–4 years of production or content creation experience, preferably in digital, social, or UGC-focused media.
- Strong proficiency in hi-fi pro-sumer camera operations, gimbals, lighting setups, and professional audio.
- Proven ability to manage shoots independently, troubleshoot challenges, and maintain efficiency under pressure.
- Deep understanding of social-first creative, trends, and platform nuances.
- Strong directing skills with the ability to coach talent for natural, authentic, and aspirational performances.
- Solid grasp of shot composition, camera angles, lighting, and color grading.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to keep shoots on schedule while maintaining high creative quality.
- Familiarity with post-production workflows including file prep, exports, and basic editing/color correction.
- Experience with software such as Adobe Suite, Asana, Airtable, and Google Drive.
- Positive, proactive attitude with a focus on improving execution and mentoring junior team members.
- Ability to go on-site multiple times a week (Manhattan Beach HQ and other shoot locations).
