As Production Team Lead, you will be responsible for assigning work according to production needs while issuing recommendations on production organization and making adjustments. You will work to ensure supply of raw materials, components and other products for production; check equipment availability and operational status; ensure production processes are carried out and ensure workplace safety.

You will assist in integrating new hires; coordinating production staff and evaluating employee performance. You will also collaborate on management processes, production processes and participate in the training and development of the skills of production employees.

In this role you will:

• Attend shift start and pass off meetings to highlight key objectives and daily tasks for your team
• Supervise the work of manufacturing employees, ensuring safety, quality, service and productivity
• Has frequent coaching conversations and provides actionable feedback to production associates.
• Identifies and escalates personal issues as they arise to the Production Manager.
• Work closely with Production Manager to ensure we are meeting monthly targets to our production goals
• Onboard, train and integrate new Production Associates to the shift team
• First line of troubleshooting and escalate as necessary
• Responsible for dealing with issues that arise on the production floor by proposing solutions to the Production Manager
• Attend strategy meetings within Operations and maintain the voice of Manufacturing
• Enforce company Policies and SOPs
• Will ensure 5S standards are maintained throughout the factory floor
• Will participate in various 5S and lean standard work events
• Manage the team’s training schedule and update Training Matrix.
• Maintain a safe workplace at all times by compliance with all applicable OSHA and local safety rules
• Working Conditions:
• Working on feet in manufacturing facility for 5+ hours per day
• Primarily standing, concrete floor, and frequently walking throughout manufacturing facility
• Lifting of 50+ pounds infrequently
• High manual dexterity required during assembly of tooling and fixturing

What you have:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-4 years of relevant work experience in a continuous manufacturing environment
• Experience working with electro-mechanical systems, industrial equipment, 3D printers, production tooling
• CAD experience (Solidworks a plus)
• Production experience working with plastics and/or materials processing (such as Nylon, fiberglass or carbon fiber) is considered a plus
• Familiar with LEAN / Six Sigma concepts
• Basic understanding of physics/material fundamentals.
• The ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
• Thrives in fast-past dynamic environment and able to handle ambiguous situations with maturity and professionalism
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Extremely motivated and organized individual who can be self-directed in both team-based and individual settings

• Willingness to travel between Markforged sites 10%-20%, at times working non-standard hours
• Passion for future additive manufacturing, and experience with 3D printers
