Markforged is looking for a Product Manager to join our team in Waltham, MA. We are the inventors of Continuous Fiber Reinforcement and Metal FFF 3D Printing - building strong composite and metal parts using the Markforged Digital Forge – the world’s most reliable, intelligent, and easy-to-use additive manufacturing platform.
By developing and delivering the full product stack consisting of precision hardware, cloud-connected software, and industrial materials, we empower engineers and technicians to seamlessly go from design to functional part, dramatically reducing lead time and cost. In manufacturing fields from consumer electronics, to automotive, and aerospace, Markforged composite and metal parts are enabling transformations in manufacturing processes and in end use applications.
We are seeking a New Product Manager (NPI) to lead new products that fuel this industrial transformation, including a focus on metal-based additive manufacturing for highly complex parts.
In this role you will:
- Understand our users, their needs, and their engagement with our platform through qualitative (e.g. interviews) and quantitative (e.g. usage analysis) research
- Develop strong knowledge of AM and traditional manufacturing, benchmark competitors, and identify emerging trends that are relevant to our products
- Craft and communicate product vision and business justification in a clear and compelling way to executives, engineers, sales, and other stakeholders across the organization
- Define clear and concise requirements for new printers, materials, and features based on insights that intersect customer, technology, and business needs.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Program Management from product definition through delivery to ensure alignment on priorities, provide compelling context, and make tradeoff decisions
- Help guide go-to-market strategy and pricing decisions through product launch and beyond
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop go to market content creation and Customer Experience to develop post-launch product support.

What we look for:
- 5+ years working with hardware, embedded systems, and/or connected products.
- 2+ years as a Product Manager (or equivalent experience) with multiple products shipped
- Ability to serve as the internal Voice of the Customer, driving business outcomes and customer success through your products.
- Analytical and data-driven approach to decision making
- Ability to champion new ideas, and effectively collaborate across the organization, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A demonstrated passion for solving customer problems
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment with a bias towards action
- BS or higher in engineering, science, or an equivalent technical competency.
- Experience with industrial manufacturing, materials engineering, and/or connected products is a plus.
- MBA is a plus
This role will require being on-site 4+ days per week at our Headquarters in Waltham, MA and ~15% travel domestic and international travel for customer site visits, trade shows, and sales meetings
