Job Description
This role is the principal owner of all purchasing and warehousing activities for Digital Metal AB, a fully owned subsidiary of Markforged Inc in Boston, USA.
This role is pivotal to the success of the team / organisation and will play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction, timely delivery of goods and materials. The role is a combination of strategic and operational sourcing and purchasing. The role reports to the Technical Director and interfaces with the rest of the Digital Metal organisation, as well as our US colleagues at Markforged. As well as day to day operational responsibilities you will also play a key part in the delivery and development of new processes and systems.
What will you own:
- You will have purchasing process responsibility, which must adhere to our ISO9001:2015 achieved standards
- Both strategic and operational responsibility for purchasing tasks:
- Strategic purchasing - Supplier evaluation, supplier set up, supplier audits
- Operational purchasing - Issue supplier PO’s and Order acknowledgements and ensure accurate goods receipt
- Responsible for warehouse maintenance covering goods reception, warehouse allocation and annual stock takes
- Responsible for maintaining the Article Register in our Inventory Management System to ensure all items are registered accurately and timely
- Logistics handling, such as freight booking, import and export requirements for all order processing
- Actively own and be responsible for month-end reporting to finance for warehouse and inventory balances
- Prepare material for machine builds in line with the bill of material (BOM)
- Maintain our inventory warehouse system
- The role will support logistical requirements for the organisation
- Inventory reporting on a monthly and ad-hoc basis to the both the Swedish and US finance teams
What you have:
- Proven work experience in purchasing and warehouse management
- Fluent English; written and spoken
- Experience of using specific warehousing and purchasing software
- Experience of an ERP system is essential, experience of Pyramid would be advantageous
- Ability to work in a team-focused, deadline-driven environment
- A proactive and can-do attitude with the ability to work using own initiative, knowing when to escalate
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven and demonstrable experience of handling multiple projects / tasks simultaneously, with competing deadlines
