Markforged is looking for a lead contributor onsite at our contract manufacturer (CM) in Modi’in, Israel. We are looking for a self-starter to forge strong relationships with our supplier and excel as the regional manufacturing and quality point contact for the Markforged (MF) Operations Team. The qualified individual will be responsible for collaborating locally and with MF corporate on all new product introductions. The successful candidate will also act as the primary interface for the MF corporate quality team and all related activities to the CM.

What will you own?

• Generally co-located with the contract manufacturer to foster robust supplier relationships and represent Markforged’s manufacturing engineering and quality engineering interests onsite in Israel
• Work alongside Operations Program Manager to transfer new product(s) to the contract manufacturer for volume production
• Provide DFM/DFA expertise and input on all new product introductions
• Primary interface for implementation of fixtures, equipment, and Markforged-specific processes into the contract manufacturer
• Optimize manufacturing processes for cost, line efficiency, and product quality, working with contract manufacturer to close gaps
• Write, implement, and maintain processes and procedures in coordination with corporate operations team
• Primary escalation contact for manufacturing and quality issues presented by the contract manufacturer
• Collaborate with corporate quality team to drive root cause analysis and reporting of manufacturing defects from customers and internal
• Review incoming quality inspections and perform audits to verify contract manufacturer’s suppliers are meeting MF and industry standards
• Regularly audits all other applicable contract manufacturer’s production, internal quality, and documentation data
• Maintain databases of findings for root cause analysis and other quality issues as aligned with the MF Corporate Quality team
• Drive implementation of corrective actions with CM teams
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What you have:

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a variety of mechanical and electrical systems
• Extensive experience working in a Quality Management System
• Experience performing DFM/DFA for electromechanical products
• Intimate knowledge of manufacturing best practices
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus 5 - 7 years of related experience
• Self-starter that can operate on their own with minimal direction
• Demonstrated experience building cross-functional organizational networks to facilitate rapid communication and resolution of issues
• Excellent time management skills and highly organized with fastidious attention to detail
• Technical troubleshooting mindset and a passion for quality
• Strong verbal and written communication skills - can convey complex technical topics in simple terms across corporate internal departments
• Willing to be located onsite in Israel full-time
• Fluent in both English and Hebrew
• Experience writing technical documents, processes, and procedures
• Experience working with database tools (JIRA is a plus)
• Experience with change control systems (EPDM, Github, ERP and PLM systems)
• Familiarity with 3D CAD (Fusion360, SolidWorks, Onshape, etc.)
• Up to 15% international travel (primarily USA)
