At Docker, we make app development easier so developers can focus on what matters. Our remote-first team spans the globe, united by a passion for innovation and great developer experiences. With over 20 million monthly users and 20 billion image pulls, Docker is the #1 tool for building, sharing, and running apps—trusted by startups and Fortune 100s alike. We’re growing fast and just getting started. Come join us for a whale of a ride!
We are looking for a Senior Strategic Finance Analyst (Systems and AI) to join Docker’s Finance team, with a focus on owning Pigment (our FP&A tool) and enabling better decision-making through scalable models and reporting. This person will act as the team’s go-to expert on Pigment, building and maintaining models, driving adoption of new use cases, and ensuring data quality. They will also support financial reporting and provide ad hoc analysis to cross-functional partners.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being both a systems builder and a finance problem solver, and who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Pigment owner for the Finance team: manage system setup, build new models, and continuously improve existing structures.
Partner with Finance leadership to translate business needs into Pigment use cases (e.g., new forecasting modules, scenario planning, reporting automation).
Build and maintain recurring finance reports and dashboards, ensuring accuracy and usability for stakeholders.
Leverage AI tools to automate financial processes, enhance forecasting accuracy, and generate actionable insights that improve decision-making.
Support the team with ad hoc analysis across revenue, expenses, and operational metrics.
Ensure data integrity across Pigment, Excel, and Google Sheets models; streamline workflows where possible.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (GTM, Product, Operations, People) to collect inputs, align on assumptions, and improve forecast accuracy.
-
Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting cycles.
Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience in FP&A, finance systems management, or related roles.
Hands-on experience with Pigment or similar FP&A platforms (Adaptive, Anaplan, etc.) is a must.
Strong skills in Excel and Google Sheets (modeling, scenario analysis, data manipulation).
Strong problem-solving mindset: able to build scalable solutions in systems, not just one-off models.
Detail-oriented with the ability to spot errors and ensure data quality.
-
Clear communicator who can translate financial/system concepts into simple terms for non-finance stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building out and scaling financial tools in a high-growth company.
Exposure to SaaS metrics and subscription-based business models.
Hands-on experience applying AI or automation technologies to finance workflows (e.g., forecasting, reporting, data reconciliation).
What to Expect
First 30 Days
Onboard into Docker’s finance processes, tools, and reporting cadence.
Gain a strong understanding of existing Pigment models, data structures, and workflows.
Take ownership of recurring reporting tasks (monthly dashboards, financial reports in Pigment, ad hoc requests)
First 90 Days
Lead improvements to existing Pigment models (optimize structures, enhance usability, clean up assumptions).
Build at least one new Pigment use case/module that addresses a pressing Finance or cross-functional need (e.g., headcount planning, opex forecasting, revenue drivers).
Streamline a recurring reporting process (e.g., reduce manual work in Excel/Sheets by moving into Pigment or automating dashboards).
Support budget/forecast cycles by preparing inputs, reconciling data, and running scenario analyses.
One-Year Outlook
Be recognized as Docker’s go-to Pigment expert, enabling the Finance team to scale processes effectively.
Build and maintain a robust suite of Pigment use cases that support long-range planning, scenario modeling, and board/executive reporting.
Improve forecast accuracy and reporting speed through better system design and process automation.
Embed AI-enabled workflows into core finance processes, improving forecast accuracy, reporting speed, and decision-making quality.
