The Role:
The mission of the Data Acquisition squad is to gather, enrich and make useful the vast quantities of data that powers CommerceIQ DSA products. We currently gather almost 4 million pages per day from around 500 retailers worldwide, and we’re continually growing.
We’re looking for a skilled software engineer to join the Apps squad to develop app crawlers to meet the ever-increasing need of our rapidly growing customer-base.
What You'll Do:
- Apply your strong engineering skills to the development of mobile app crawlers.
- Produce high-quality code in alignment with the squad’s coding standards and design practices
- Own your changes from development to production and beyond
- Mentor and support more junior members of the squad; assist with code reviews and other knowledge sharing activities
- Play an active role in the growth and development of the squad and its processes; explore and champion new techniques, technologies and tools
- Participate in engineering and architecture forums to help build a culture of excellence within the wider engineering organisation
- Solve challenging problems of Mobile App Crawlers.
What You'll Bring:
- Significant experience developing systems and products using JavaScript
- Experience with web-scraping and its challenges
- Solid understanding of web technologies
- Strong in Coding, Problem solving and DSA
- Experience working with cloud-based technologies and development processes
- Familiarity with SDLC and agile methodologies
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- A passion for delivering quality software
- A pragmatic approach and desire to learn new things
- Good troubleshooting skills
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with mobile apps crawling
- Experience with TypeScript
- Experience of building services in the cloud, especially with Google Cloud Platform
- Experience of containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience of building infrastructure as code, especially with Terraform
- Data analysis and SQL skills
