Cohesity is a leader in AI-powered data security and management. Aided by an extensive ecosystem of partners, Cohesity makes it easy to secure, protect, manage, and get value from data — across the data center, edge, and cloud. Cohesity helps organizations defend against cybersecurity threats with comprehensive data security and management capabilities, including immutable backup snapshots, AI-based threat detection, monitoring for malicious behavior, and rapid recovery at scale.
We’ve been named a Leader by multiple analyst firms and have been globally recognized for Innovation, Product Strength, and Simplicity in Design.
Join us on our mission to shape the future of our industry.
GAIA is Cohesity’s enterprise AI platform for unlocking the value of unstructured data across the Cohesity Data Cloud. It helps customers securely search, understand, summarize, and reason across current and historical enterprise information, while preserving permissions, provenance, and governance. GAIA also provides a foundation for agentic AI by making trusted enterprise context available to AI applications, copilots, and agents — helping customers move from simply protecting data to using it as a strategic source of intelligence and action.
Why Now
These are founding seats in Cohesity’s new AI Business Unit. GAIA is where the market is heading — enterprises secured their data with us; now they want to activate it for AI. You’ll help build the technical sales playbook on top of 13,600 existing customers and co-sell muscle from NVIDIA and the hyperscalers, proving what GAIA can do in the accounts that matter most. Ground floor, executive air cover from the GM of AI, and a partner ecosystem already generating pipeline.
You are the technical engine behind the AI sales motion. Paired with the Specialist Account Executive, AI, you own the technical win — the AE owns the commercial relationship and the number, and you make the technology real: architecture, demos, POCs, and the credibility to hold a technical room. This is a pre-sales, business-value, and consultative solutions role, not a hands-on production-engineering seat. You bring enough depth to design and defend a solution, and enough range to translate it into a value story an executive buys.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:
- Own the technical win in every GAIA deal you support — discovery, solution design, demos, and proof of value — partnered with the Specialist AE who owns the commercial close.
- Be the AI subject-matter expert in the room on data architecture, RAG, deployment models, and where the risk sits — credible enough to hold a technical conversation with a CAIO, CDO, VP of AI, or their architects.
- Design and deliver enterprise-grade AI/GenAI solutions integrated with Cohesity’s data security and management platform, leveraging our unique access to enterprise backup, archive, and unstructured data.
- Architect retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions and build reference architectures, solution accelerators, and demos that connect Cohesity’s core strengths with emerging AI capabilities.
- Lead technical workshops, POCs, and pilots that validate AI use cases across regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, public sector, legal) and turn a first proof point into a multi-phase plan.
- Build executive-quality technical narratives — solution briefs, architecture diagrams, and business cases specific to the account, not a template with a logo swapped in.
- Work the AI partner ecosystem — NVIDIA, the hyperscalers, and infrastructure OEMs — on joint solutions, technical co-sell, and reference architectures that accelerate deals.
- Feed the field back into the roadmap — partner with Product and Engineering so what you learn in deals shapes what we build and how customers adopt it.
- Support disciplined deal hygiene — accurate technical qualification, honest POC exit criteria, and forecasts the AE and the business can plan against.
WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
- 7+ years in solutions architecture, sales/pre-sales engineering, or technical consulting, including time supporting enterprise sales in a specialist or overlay capacity.
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying generative AI systems — LLMs, embeddings, RAG, vector stores, and orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain/LlamaIndex).
- Strong infrastructure background: enterprise storage (NAS/SAN/Object), backup/recovery platforms, and hybrid-cloud architectures — you understand what it takes to get a platform decision made.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes/OpenShift and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) for deploying AI workloads.
- Proficiency in Python and APIs for automation, integration, and ML workflows — enough to build a credible demo and debug a POC.
- Working knowledge of security, governance, and compliance frameworks and how they intersect with AI and data protection.
- Excellent communication skills — able to simplify complex AI + infrastructure concepts for both technical and executive audiences, and to hold a buying committee.
- Comfort operating in a co-sell / specialist model — you drive the AI technical motion, the AE owns the commercial relationship, and you make that partnership work.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making.
- Professional English language proficiency for customer and internal communication.
WE ARE EXTRA EXCITED IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Prior specialist or overlay SE experience at a data infrastructure, cloud, or AI platform vendor.
- Experience validating AI use cases in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, public sector, legal).
- Comfort working a technical co-sell motion with NVIDIA, AWS, Azure, or GCP field and solutions teams.
- Existing technical relationships with data/AI architecture leaders at Fortune 500 or high-growth East Coast enterprises.
HOW YOU WILL BE MEASURED:
- Technical win rate on the deals you support — POCs and pilots that hit their exit criteria and convert.
- Influenced revenue and pipeline progression across product, infrastructure, and consulting/advisory bookings in your territory.
- Quality and reuse of the assets you produce — reference architectures, demos, and accelerators the broader field can run with.
- Services and multi-phase attach — labs, deployment, and advisory engagements that grow the account.
- Field collaboration — how well you and your paired AE(s) operate as a unit; AE and account-team satisfaction.
- Partner co-sell — joint solutions and technical wins built with AI partner teams.
- Technical qualification quality and POC/forecast reliability.
TRAVEL
- Field-based, East Coast; regular travel across North America for customer meetings, workshops, and POCs, plus periodic travel to Santa Clara HQ and company events.
