The Senior Manager, Business Transformation & Optimization (BT&O) contributes to Cohesity’s most complex, ambiguous, and highest-stakes cross-functional priorities end to end — from framing the problem with executive sponsors through to delivering measurable change that holds after the program closes. BT&O is a small, deliberately lean team of internal consultants chartered to lead the work the C-Suite cares most about, operating with direct visibility to executive leadership, and trusted with the problems that do not have an obvious owner or
answer. Reporting to the Director, BT&O, this role reshapes how the company operates to enable scalability, competitive advantage, and long-term value creation.
The BT&O team is tasked with the following types of initiatives: AI Proliferation, Business Process Optimization, Operating Model Changes, M&A Integration, Proof of Concept Development, Project Rescue, Value Delivery Reporting, and IPO Readiness.
WHAT YOU'LL DO HERE:
Strategic Initiative Delivery
• Lead discrete projects and workstreams within larger enterprise programs
• Own initiatives end to end — framing the problem with the executive sponsor, translating it into a roadmap with defined outcomes, milestones, owners, and financial impact, and driving it through the functions to delivery.
• Build and run the governance that keeps executives making decisions — working
sessions, steering committee materials, decision logs, and pre-reads designed to force decisions rather than report status.
• Land change durably — transition delivered work to a permanent owner with
documentation, a running cadence, and clear accountability rather than leaving it
dependent on BT&O.
• Step into stalled or off-track initiatives, re-establish requirements, sponsorship, and a credible path forward, and restart delivery.
• Stand up entirely new capabilities and ways of working where no precedent exists —defining the approach the first time it is done, then making it repeatable.
Problem Solving & Operating Model Design
• Analyze complex business problems, synthesize insights, and develop practical,
decision-ready recommendations — maintaining analytical rigor even in imperfect-data environments.
• Connect dots across the organization to surface interdependencies, risks, and structural inefficiencies, and bring structure, clarity, and forward momentum to ambiguous initiatives without waiting for direction.
• Streamline and unify business processes and design the operating models and decision rights that make speed, consistency, and accountability stick.
• Draw on a broad toolkit of methodologies and frameworks — with the judgment to combine, adapt, or discard them rather than apply a fixed playbook — and codify what works into reusable frameworks.
• Build AI-enabled solutions directly — agents, automations, and working proofs of
concept — to test ideas quickly, prove value before scaling, and remove manual effort without waiting on technical resourcing.
• Lead the change management and enablement required for adoption — stakeholder alignment, training, communications, and reinforcement — so new processes and tools are actually used, not just launched. Value Delivery & Measurement
• Provide executive-level visibility into progress, outcomes, risks, and lessons learned — building dashboards and reporting that use AI and automation so insight is self-service, current, and runnable by the business without ongoing support.
• Ensure every major initiative has a quantified business case, defined value realization metrics, and post-implementation validation of financial, operational, and strategic impact.
WE'D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
• 8+ years of experience in business transformation, consulting, program management, or operational excellence within a technology-driven environment, and proven success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable business impact.
• Confident and self-sufficient with AI: able to design and build agents, automations, and proofs of concept independently to drive efficiency and test solutions without depending on technical teams to do the build, and fluent enough with enterprise systems to scope and challenge systems-dependent work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to distill complexity into clarity.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including direct C-suite exposure, ownership of executive-level material, and the confidence to respectfully challenge assumptions and align stakeholders toward the best outcome.
• Comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels using various project and change management frameworks as tools to enable outcomes.
• Highly collaborative, curious, and proactive; a trusted connector who builds strong relationships across the enterprise and thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
• Exposure to M&A integration or other structural operating model changes (preferred).
• MBA or advanced degree in business, management, or related field (preferred).
