The Licensing Services Advisor engages with Cohesity customers and internal account teams to ensure the successful execution of license compliance reviews, ranging from proactive self-reviews to third-party audit engagements.
This role is part of the Worldwide Field Operations (WFO) organization and plays a key role in preserving customer trust and driving long-term value through compliant licensing outcomes.
The Advisor must demonstrate strong project management, negotiation, and communication skills, balancing policy adherence with a customer-first approach.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE
Lead license compliance engagements from initiation through resolution, coordinating with internal stakeholders such as Legal, Sales, Revenue, and Product Operations
Interpret and apply Cohesity license agreements and subscription terms to real-world customer usage scenarios
Analyze large data sets to assess compliance risk and identify customer targeting opportunities
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during reviews, supporting discussions around licensing models, data sharing, and reconciliation outcomes
Provide commercial input during negotiation discussions and licensing remediation plans
Navigate high-conflict scenarios professionally to drive mutually beneficial outcomes
Engage with third-party audit firms as needed and validate externally produced findings
Maintain a strong understanding of Cohesity licensing models, product portfolio (e.g., NetBackup, Data Protect), and subscription programs
Participate in cross-functional projects to refine review processes and improve operational standards
Ensure consistency and policy alignment across global engagements
WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING
B.A. or B.S. in Business, Finance, Law, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
Advanced certification (MBA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred
3–7 years of relevant experience in license compliance, software asset management, or customer-facing project management
Strong working knowledge of subscription and perpetual licensing models
Proven experience handling customer escalations and resolving licensing disputes
Ability to manage multiple engagements across regions and time zones
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills
High level of professional ethics, integrity, and judgment
Occasional travel may be required
Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making.

Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
