The Licensing Services SME Analyst is responsible for supporting Cohesity’s license compliance engagements by ensuring the delivery of accurate deployment and entitlement positions. This includes analysis of technical data, entitlement reconciliation, and creation of Effective License Position (ELP) reports across Cohesity’s product portfolio, primarily NetBackup and Data Protect.
This role sits within the Licensing Services organization and plays a critical role in maintaining long-term, trust-based relationships with customers by upholding compliance standards and licensing integrity.
This position requires strong analytical, technical, and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and manage challenging conversations with customers during data collection and validation.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE
Support Cohesity license compliance projects in partnership with field-based Licensing Services Advisors (LSAs)
Perform technical deployment analysis using tools such as NetBackup Usage Insights, telemetry reports, and related data sources
Track collection, validation, and analysis of customer data to ensure timely delivery in line with internal SLAs
Assist customers and field teams remotely throughout the data collection process, including tool setup and validation
Analyze and summarize deployment vs entitlement to produce fact-based ELP reports using predefined business rules
Maintain working knowledge of Cohesity’s licensing structure and apply consistently across engagements
Act as a subject matter expert for license deployment tools and entitlement mapping within the SME team
Contribute to the knowledge base and support continuous process improvement
Collaborate with Product Management and Pre-Sales teams when needed to ensure licensing accuracy
WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING
B.A. or B.S. in Business, Finance, Law, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
Advanced certification (MBA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred
3–6 years of relevant experience in license compliance, software asset management, or customer-facing project management
Proven ability to resolve technical and entitlement reconciliation issues independently
Up-to-date understanding of Cohesity products (NetBackup, Data Protect), licensing practices, and policies
Strong written and verbal communication skills across global teams and time zones
Proficient in Excel, Word, and data analysis tools; strong documentation and presentation skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team
Strong attention to detail and critical thinking in analyzing complex datasets
Experience interpreting software license contracts and managing audit-related communications
Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making.
