Cohesity is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to serve as a dedicated technical advisor for one of our most strategic customers. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful deployment, operation, and optimization of Cohesity’s data management solutions. As a trusted expert, you will work closely with customers to provide in person hands-on technical support, advise on best practices, and deliver training to ensure seamless adoption of Cohesity technologies.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE
- Data Protection & Management: Implement, manage, and optimize Cohesity’s backup, recovery, and data protection solutions.
- Storage & Infrastructure Expertise: Maintain and troubleshoot storage solutions, including NetApp, NAS, physical files, and IT infrastructure.
- Database Management: Support and advise on VMware, SQL, MongoDB, Exchange, Kubernetes, and related environments.
- Disaster Recovery & Security: Assist customers in designing and implementing disaster recovery strategies while ensuring adherence to security best practices.
- Systems Monitoring & Optimization: Continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance to prevent issues and maximize uptime.
- Networking & Architecture: Provide guidance on basic networking concepts and contribute to system architecture and design discussions.
- Technical Training & Knowledge Transfer: Deliver training, best practice recommendations, and knowledge transfer sessions to customers.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve technical issues, escalating when necessary to ensure business continuity.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed technical documentation, incident reports, and operational procedures.
WE'D LOVE TO TALK IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING
- 5-8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, data management, or storage solutions (will consider 4 years plus hands-on experience supporting Cohesity solutions in lieu).
- Ability to work in our customer’s Bangalore office.
- Proven experience in data backup, recovery, and protection solutions.
- Strong understanding of storage technologies, IT infrastructure, and databases (VMware, SQL, NetApp, MongoDB, Kubernetes, NAS, Exchange, Physical files).
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts and ability to advise on architecture and design best practices.
- Hands-on experience with systems monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in disaster recovery planning and ability to advise on security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical approach.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in customer-facing roles, providing best practice recommendations and technical training.
- Ability to create clear, concise technical documentation and reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications in relevant areas (e.g., VMware, NetApp, SQL, Kubernetes, ITIL, Cohesity Certified Professional).
- Experience in enterprise IT environments, working with large-scale data management solutions.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation tools for system optimization.

Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
