The Senior Licensing Services Advisor leads and manages complex license compliance engagements with Cohesity’s largest and most strategic customers. This role is responsible for executing high-impact reviews, mentoring team members, and contributing to the continuous improvement of licensing programs and processes.


Reporting into the Field Operations organization, this role plays a key part in safeguarding compliance standards while supporting trusted, long-term customer relationships.


This position requires a high degree of commercial and licensing acumen, strong stakeholder communication, and the ability to resolve licensing conflicts with diplomacy and business judgment.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:

  • Manage strategic license compliance reviews from initiation to closure, partnering with Legal, Revenue, Sales Ops, and other internal stakeholders

  • Interpret and apply complex Cohesity license agreements and usage terms across multiple product lines (NetBackup, Data Protect)

  • Drive customer engagements involving large data volumes and nuanced compliance scenarios

  • Assess and respond to third-party audit findings with internal validation and negotiation support

  • Serve as the escalation point for complex licensing or entitlement disputes during customer interactions

  • Manage customer objections, refusal to cooperate, or contractual escalations with professionalism and policy adherence

  • Provide strategic guidance to Sales and Renewals teams to support future compliance and revenue protection

  • Participate in global projects aimed at improving compliance review frameworks, tools, and operational consistency

  • Mentor junior Licensing Services Advisors and SMEs; promote internal knowledge sharing

  • Contribute to the evolution of the licensing services program through process innovation and cross-functional alignment


WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • B.A. or B.S. in Finance, Law, Computer Science, MIS, or related field

  • MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced certification preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in license compliance or software asset management (SAM), 3+ years managing an in-house SAM program, or 2+ years in enterprise sales or licensing strategy roles

  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex, multi-product licensing resolutions

  • Strong understanding of compliance, entitlement logic, and subscription/perpetual licensing models

  • Excellent project and stakeholder management capabilities

  • High level of professional integrity, ethics, and sound judgment

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Occasional travel required

Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.

Pay Range :

$117,680.00-$147,100.00

The compensation noted above is based on an annualized hourly rate assuming normal full-time employment.
