Want to help us simplify the world of data management?

Cohesity is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to serve as a dedicated technical advisor for one of our most strategic customers. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful deployment, operation, and optimization of Cohesity’s data management solutions. As a trusted expert, you will work closely with customers to provide in person hands-on technical support, advise on best practices, and deliver training to ensure seamless adoption of Cohesity technologies.


HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE

  • Craft, build, and execute programs that will enable Cohesity’s partners and customers to deploy our secondary storage solutions applications.
  • Implement technical solutions and enable others to do so through training and documentation. This will include installing the solution, integrating it with the applications and operations, validating these procedures in the field, and guiding partners and customers on how to apply these in their environment.
  • Work with systems engineers, tech marketing specialists, and customer support to build out professional services practices (i.e.,installation, integration, applications, migration, scripting) to be used by Cohesity’s partners and customers.

WE'D LOVE TO TALK IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING

15 plus years of experience in

  • Design:
    • Design, build, test, and deploy effective automation solutions
    • Create automation scripts and conduct manual testing, analyze results, and present findings to the development team
  • Implementation:
    • Deliver professional services to Cohesity customers.
    • Act as onsite manager for key / high-profile implementations.
  • Responsible for Cohesity System installation development and documentation:
    • Write and validate the implementation/integration standard methodologies.
    • Build knowledge base articles for design and deployment tips.
    • Develop pre-installation survey and planning documents to prepare for install.
    • Develop workflows to validate implementations.
    • Develop sample post-deployment documentation (e.g., run books, pre-deployment templates, etc.). Conduct beta testing of procedures for new offerings in the field.
    • Provide feedback to engineering on ways to improve the implementation experience.
  • Knowledge Sharing:
    • Convert standard methodologies into a training curriculum.
    • Deliver hands-on training in small-group formats.
    • Mentor trainees in the field.
    • Assist in the creation of certification exam questions.
    • Assist in training in the field during new product introductions.
    • Conduct webinars for introductory.

Additionally, the Resident Engineer responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the technical relationship between the customer and Cohesity Engineering, Sales, Support, and Technical Marketing teams.
  • Using technical knowledge and business acumen to help customers design and operate data protection and data security solutions.
  • Performing engineering tasks to resolve technical obstacles and unique customer challenges. Configuring and improving operational reporting. Proactively resolving any technical issues that could impact data recovery operations.
  • Working with technical teams to ensure the system software is up to date and configured according to recommended best practices.
  • Helping to identify any opportunities for technical enhancements or additional product sales.
  • Facilitating contract renewals through technical validation and reporting.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key personnel in the customer’s organization.
  • Engaging and providing leadership for any escalations, especially those related to data recovery or SmartFiles.

  • Programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, Shell

This position has a starting pay range of $MIN - $MID per year. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.

In-Office Expectations

Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
