IP / Patent Paralegal/Administrator

Pune, India

We are seeking a highly motivated and outstanding Intellectual Property (IP) paralegal/administrator to join the Cohesity in-house Legal team. Reporting to the IP and Product (IP&P) team, this is a multi-faceted role where you will work closely with various stakeholders on key strategic initiatives and programs and have the opportunity to be creative, make a big impact, and add immediate value.

Your primary focus will be assisting the IP and Product team in protecting the company’s IP, including patents, trademarks, open source software, copyrights and trade secrets.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE

  • Assist with implementation and administration of IP Management Systems and associated processes
  • Track, monitor, and report on various IP related trends, including invention disclosures, patent applications, and trademarks
  • Maintain data integrity for all IP systems and tools to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Promote IP program through events, recognition programs, and awards
  • Assist with managing and coordinating various IP trainings
  • Generate custom IP related reports for strategic decision making and tracking
  • Assist with developing and formatting team presentations for various stakeholders
  • Assist with preparation of IP Budget projections and spend tracking
  • Increase diversity in innovation by assisting with Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) IP efforts
  • Collaborate with legal operations to acquire, configure and rollout technologies that increase the team’s efficiency and value to the business
  • Collaborate regularly with the US-based colleagues, accommodating different time zones, with an anticipated commitment of at least 3 days per week
  • Develop positive, strong, and collaborative relationships with multiple cross-functional partners (e.g., Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Outside counsel, other Legal teams) to accelerate the team's effectiveness and ability to deliver on sophisticated, cross-functional tasks

WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required
  • Additional certifications/training in IP/Patent law or paralegal studies would be a plus
  • 5+ years working as an in-house patent paralegal/administrator
  • Experience with any Intellectual Property Management Systems (IPMS) such as Anaqua, Lecorpio or Memotech
  • Familiarity with trademark and copyright in high-tech areas
  • Experience with implementing in-house IP processes, systems, and tools
  • Technical savvy – must have strong computer skills, including with office productivity software (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Drive, etc.) and be open to exploring new technical tools to help the Team
  • Familiarity with project management and business insight tools (e.g., Asana and PowerBI)
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to successfully juggle multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently to get the job done
  • Must be very detail-oriented, process-driven and highly organized
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills for all business levels
