Capital One is seeking a Solutions Architect to work in our Enterprise Data Tech organization as a Customer Success Solutions Architect. This individual will be accountable to drive a cohesive data strategy across the enterprise data platforms for our internal customers. This role will lead horizontally and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable data solutions to our customers.

This leader must have the technical skills to ensure that we build compelling, customer-oriented solutions. Success in the role requires an innovative mind, a proven track record of delivering highly complex solutions end to end, rigorous organization skills, and a passion for delivering customer value. We are looking for leaders who love learningand introducing new technology in order to help colleagues and customers embrace and adopt newtechnology.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver data architecture and technical consultations (DTC) for LOB use cases

  • Publish Customer Data Architecture Pattern, guidance or documentation aligned to Enterprise Data target state

  • Launch Voice of Customer (VOC) sections within 4 key eData domains

  • Craft and execute strategies to drive our customers’ adoption and use of Enterprise Data platforms

  • Represent Enterprise Data within a customer’s organization, and drive discussions with senior leadership regarding new capabilities, incidents, trade-offs and risks

  • Drive end to end architecture to meet the needs of our internal customers

  • Design, plan and manage technical solutions on behalf of our internal customers

  • Develop trusting relationships with customers, to understand their needs and technical challenges, and help them achieve the greatest value from Enterprise Data

  • Guide customers on how to properly use Enterprise Data Platforms, educating them on best practices

  • Work with business partners, architects, and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of systems, and determine priority of needs

  • Proactively find opportunities for customers to gain additional value out of target state tools & platforms

  • Possess a keen attention to detail and a passion for Architecture, Software Engineering, Technology and Customer Experience

  • Have an intellectual curiosity and interest to maintain and acquire new business, technology and architecture skills

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • At least 6 years of experience in Software Engineering and Systems Architecture or Technology Solution design

  • At least 2 years of experience creating solutions architectures in a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

  • At least 3 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology

  • 4+ years of people management experience

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering

  • 5+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect in large/complex organizations

  • 8+ years of experience architecting, designing, and/or delivering delivering scalable and decoupled systems in a heavily regulated technology environment

  • 3+ years of experience working with internal and external business clients

  • 3+ years of experience with AWS concepts and implementations

  • Experience to engaging, influencing and driving initiatives by partnering with technology executives

  • Experience mentoring software engineers or architects

  • Experience in a regulated environment (HIPAA, PCI, Privacy, etc)

  • Ability to communicate at all levels in the organizations with required technical depth and breadth

  • AWS or equivalent certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Solution Architect-Associate, GCP or Azure)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $234,700 - $267,900 for Sr. Manager, Solution Arch

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
