The Enterprise Payments (EP) Debit Operations team is seeking a dynamic Debit Card Strategist (Process Manager) to enhance the Debit Card Issuance process and to monitor transaction processing across Capital One’s payment ecosystem.

As a Principal Associate, you will be responsible for creating and enhancing the debit card experiences for Bank Customers. You will play a key role in designing and implementing strategies to monitor the health of the payment ecosystem, improving debit card functionality, and preparing the Debit Team to support a growing and more sophisticated Debit organization.

The individual will be accountable for improving the card issuance program, overseeing transaction processing and mitigating risk with an eye on achieving key strategic initiatives. This will be achieved by partnering with cross functional teams, third party suppliers, major payment networks, and our core processor.

The team is seeking a self motivated and inquisitive professional who excels in a team environment, who is tenacious in their learning journey and is an inquisitive problem solver. This person will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and can adapt to change with vigor. Being self driven with the ability to develop an internal network and influence stakeholders will be a critical key to success in this role. Responsibilities:

  • Create debit card business plans, metrics, monitoring dashboards, and presenting to Senior Leaders

  • Create long term card strategies to simplify card issuance, ranging from card manufacturing to card delivery

  • Develop and implement new physical debit card products and features

  • Design and administer process improvements- increasing efficiency and reducing expenses

  • Engage as a point of escalation to swiftly navigate issue resolution

  • Forecast usage and manage issuance budget

  • Develop and maintain formal process documentation including procedures and process flow diagrams, control standards, and FMEAs

  • Lead coordination of internal audit reviews, control reviews, and PLA assessments

The candidate should have:

  • Strong project / program and process management skills

  • Ability to create and effectively deliver presentations

  • Basic forecasting and spreadsheet skills

  • Comfortability defining open space when starting new projects

Location: This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to spend about half of your working time in office and half working virtually.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 2 years of process and project management experience

  • At least 2 years of experience with relationship management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, BPM, or PMP certification

  • 3+ years of experience working in payments
