Position Summary
The Account Executive (Commercial Segment) is responsible for driving new business growth and managing relationships with existing customers for Birdeye’s cloud-based customer experience management platform across Australia and New Zealand. This role involves the full sales lifecycle — from prospecting and presenting to negotiating and closing — as well as ensuring a seamless handover and collaboration with internal teams to support client success and retention.
The position requires a commercially minded professional with strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, onboarding, and customer success teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- New Business Development: Identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities within assigned industries and geographic territories.
- Customer Relationship Management: Manage and nurture existing customer accounts to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, ensuring long-term satisfaction and retention.
- Consultative Sales: Conduct detailed needs analyses with prospective and current clients to understand business objectives, challenges, and technology requirements.
- Sales Presentations: Prepare and deliver tailored product demonstrations and presentations to decision-makers at various organisational levels.
- Contract Negotiation: Develop proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and close new and expansion business agreements in line with company policies.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain an accurate and structured sales pipeline using CRM and sales automation tools to forecast revenue and report progress.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing to optimise lead generation campaigns, with onboarding teams to ensure smooth customer implementation, and with customer success to drive ongoing adoption and value realisation.
- Product Feedback: Provide structured feedback to the product and engineering teams based on customer insights and market trends.
- Brand Representation: Represent Birdeye at industry events, webinars, and client meetings to strengthen brand presence and thought leadership.
- Performance Achievement: Consistently achieve or exceed individual and team sales targets and KPIs.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Account Executive or Business Development
- Manager within the SaaS, technology, or digital solutions industry.
- Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment.
- Experience managing both new business acquisition and existing customer relationships.
- Strong negotiation, closing, and communication skills with a consultative, relationship-driven sales approach.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across departments, especially marketing, onboarding, and customer success.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho) and familiarity with sales automation tools.
- Highly self-motivated, organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or Information Technology (or equivalent professional experience).
