The Okta FGA Dashboard and Tooling Team

The Okta Fine Grained Authorization team mission is to help the industry solve authorization for application developers.
The FGA Dashboard and Tooling team builds SDKs, CLI, IDE integrations, documentation and the Management dashboard for Okta Fine Grained Authorization and OpenFGA, its open source core.

The Product Manager Opportunity

Reporting to the Okta FGA Group Product Manager, this role will be responsible for the Okta FGA and OpenFGA developer experience.
In this role, you will leverage your technical background, and leadership skills to surface the product functionality in a way that delights developers using Okta FGA and OpenFGA. You’ll also engage with the developer relationships organization to grow, foster and collaborate with the OpenFGA community to ensure we have a best-in-class developer experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Find and articulate opportunities to improve how to delight Okta and OpenFGA developers by improving OpenFGA developer tooling, content and documentation
  • Partner with the developer relationships organization to design the strategy to better engage with the OpenFGA community
  • Engage with external contributors and organizations to drive FGA adoption and community awareness, and move OpenFGA closer to CNCF graduation.
  • Collaborate with documentation, developers relations and engineering teams to ensure our developer education is the best it can be
  • Identify areas of friction developers and organizations find in adopting and integrating FGA, and collaborate on finding the appropriate solutions to improve in those areas
  • Define and evangelize a roadmap that represents your product vision and strategy
  • Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and usage data to influence direction and differentiation
  • Define and track KPIs and success metrics for your product area
  • Prepare enablement content with cross-functional partners

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A passion for identifying and deeply understanding customer problems
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead through influence
  • Experience in collaborating closely with designers and engineers
  • Experience in building and delivering products for developers
  • An understanding of good SDK and/or API design
  • Experience in working on Open Source projects
  • 3+ years of experience as a product manager
  • 5+ experience in engineering roles
  • Ability to work with a team distributed across US and Europe
  • This position requires you to reside in Eastern Standard Timezone and work EST hours

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!

  • Experience working with or implementing Auth0
  • Understanding of highly scalable distributed systems

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$136,000$204,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $152,000$228,000 USD
